Welcome! This is a website that everyone can build together. It's easy!

Video Sharing for Higher EducationThis is a featured page

This site was designed to share favorite videos between folks engaged in higher education. In order to use the site, you have done all you need to do just by showing up. To contribute to the site, please join and let us know you are here.

Contents

Please feel free to use the videos you see here, update links that you find missing, and contribute your own favorites. Consider including an introduction to the video, the embed code, and a clean link so the text you provide can be used by others with minimal added effort.

Are you new to the use of multimedia in online or offline learning environments?

If you are new to this but understand the importance, check out our tutorials on Embedding Videos in Blackboard and Embedding Videos in Desire2Learn. If you use a different learning management system, drop us a line and let us know -- we'll try to find a way to insert the videos!

Add videos you find

Do as much or as little as you are able to or have time for. At a minimum, please provide a link to the page where the video was found. If you can do more (or return to do more), feel free to use the following ideas:

As an example, the video
Embed YouTube Video into PowerPoint

is directly linked
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=4yzUxNbi1h4

shows in full screen with this code (watch the video to see how that is done)
http://www.youtube.com/v/4yzUxNbi1h4

with embed code (at 7 point font to save space)
<object width="425" height="344"><param name="movie" value="http://www.youtube.com/v/4yzUxNbi1h4&hl=en&fs=1&rel=0&color1=0x5d1719&color2=0xcd311b"></param><param name="allowFullScreen" value="true"></param><param name="allowscriptaccess" value="always"></param><embed src="http://www.youtube.com/v/4yzUxNbi1h4&hl=en&fs=1&rel=0&color1=0x5d1719&color2=0xcd311b" type="application/x-shockwave-flash" allowscriptaccess="always" allowfullscreen="true" width="425" height="344"></embed></object>

that looks like this when embedded (see the EasyEdit Toolbar at the top -- look to the right).

I introduce this video by saying:

This is a quick and easy way to embed a YouTube video into a PowerPoint presentation on a PC.
(which I got from the information the author posted on YouTube).

The idea for this site has been on my mind (and in my practice for a few years now, but it was prompted by a conversation -- check out http://retrofit-eduspaces.blogspot.com/2009/03/ideas-come-from-conversations-do-you.html for more
Do you find this valuable?
